Teams, branding and client reports
Invite colleagues and clients with roles, send emails with your own brand and SMTP server, and email uptime reports to clients.
Team
Invite colleagues or clients under Team in the account menu (your avatar). Each person logs in with their own email, password and two-factor settings, then switches to your account from the account menu. A bar at the top shows whose account they are working in.
- Admin
- Everything except deleting the account: monitors, status page, alerts, reports, the team, branding, API keys and account settings.
- Editor
- Monitors, status page, alert channels and client reports. Cannot manage the team, branding, API keys or account-wide settings.
- Viewer
- Sees everything, changes nothing. Good for clients who want to look at their own monitors.
Invite links work for 7 days. Members get the account's email alerts in their own language; each member can turn that off under Team → Your accounts. Every change a member makes is in the account's activity log with their email. Removing a member takes effect on their next click. An account can have up to 50 members.
Branding (white-label)
Under Branding in the account menu you can replace uptime.rs with your own brand in everything your clients see:
- Brand name, logo and button colour in the emails sent for your account: alerts, status page updates, subscription confirmations and client reports.
- Remove "Powered by uptime.rs" from your status page and subscriber emails. Your status page's own logo, colours and domain are set under Status page.
- Custom alert subjects with the placeholders
{monitor},{url},{status}and{brand}, a footer (e.g. your support contacts) and a reply-to address.
Your own SMTP server
To send from your own address (e.g. alerts@yourcompany.com), enter your mail server, port (25, 465, 587 or 2525), encryption, login and From address, save,
then send a test email. Real emails only go through your server after a test got through. If your server fails later, the email goes out through ours instead
(with your brand name as the sender), so no alert is lost; the error is shown on the Branding page and your server is tried again after 10 minutes.
Without your own server, emails come from our address with your brand name as the sender name.
The server must be reachable on the internet; private and internal addresses are refused. Its TLS certificate is checked. The password is stored encrypted.
Client reports
Under Reports, create one report per client: the monitors it covers (all, the monitors in one or more status page groups, or a list of names or URLs), up to 20 email addresses, and weekly or monthly.
- Weekly reports go out on Monday morning (UTC) for the previous Monday to Sunday; monthly reports on the 1st for the previous month.
- Each email has the overall uptime, outages and downtime, a row per monitor (worst first) and the longest outages, with your branding. A CSV with every monitor is attached.
- Preview opens the report for the last period in your browser; print it to save a PDF. CSV downloads the spreadsheet. Send now emails the last period to the client right away; Send to me sends it only to you.
Tip: give each client's monitors the client's name as their status page group, then pick that group in the report.
